Northern Israel is on high alert as sirens blare across the region amid reports of 400 missiles fired from Iran toward Israeli territory, including areas near Haifa.

Israeli authorities confirmed that air raid sirens are active in multiple northern cities as residents seek shelter. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) have stated that they are monitoring the situation closely, activating defence systems to intercept potential incoming missiles. The alert comes amid rising tensions in the region, with fears that Iranian forces could target key infrastructure, including refineries in Haifa.

While the reported figure of 400 missiles has not yet been independently verified, it reflects the scale of concern among Israeli authorities and residents. In past conflicts, Iranian missile barrages have reached significant numbers, causing widespread alerts and prompting Israel to deploy its Iron Dome and other missile defence systems. Previous strikes targeted strategic sites, including refineries and military installations.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain indoors and follow official instructions until the threat is fully assessed. Emergency response teams are on standby to manage any impact. Analysts note that such a large-scale missile activity, if confirmed, marks one of the most severe escalations in the region in recent years.
