In Pakistan’s 2024 general election, MQM‑P secured the most National Assembly seats in Karachi, winning seventeen constituencies according to the Election Commission’s official count.
An independent investigation examined results in three constituencies: NA‑242 (Mustafa Kamal vs Dawa Khan Sabir), NA‑238 (Sadiq Iftikhar vs Haleem Adil Sheikh) and NA‑236 (Hassaan Sabir vs Alamgir Khan). The probe compared National and Provincial Assembly outcomes, voter turnout patterns and scanned official Form 45 documents submitted after voting. It also looked for statistical signs often linked with vote tabulation errors or manipulation.
Investigators noted discrepancies between turnout figures and vote totals in the selected constituencies. Differences between National and Provincial Assembly results suggested unusual vote shifts for certain candidates. Officials also pointed to mathematical “fingerprints” — patterns in the numbers that can emerge when results are tampered with after polling ends.
The findings do not prove guilt of any individual but raise questions about integrity of results in key Karachi seats where MQM‑P candidates were declared winners. All referenced data and evidence is publicly accessible for independent review and verification.
Further analysis and transparency from electoral authorities could clarify whether irregularities stemmed from reporting errors or more serious issues.
