A blast in a restaurant in Kabul, Afghanistan, on Monday resulted in the death of an Afghan security guard and the injury of two Chinese nationals, according to reports from Chinese state media. The explosion occurred in the central area of Kabul, and the injured were immediately transported to a hospital for medical treatment.

Khalid Zahran, a spokesperson for Kabul police, confirmed the explosion but provided no further details on its nature or the cause. The attack adds to the ongoing security concerns in Afghanistan, particularly in Kabul, where targeted violence has remained a challenge despite the Taliban’s control over the country.

In a separate report, Kabul-based Tolo News indicated that multiple civilian casualties were reported following another explosion in the Shahr-e-Naw area of the capital. The exact number of casualties has not yet been confirmed, and investigations are ongoing.

These incidents reflect the continued volatility in Afghanistan, with both domestic and international targets still at risk in the region.
