Hundreds of homes across the UK have been flooded as persistent rainfall continues, prompting widespread flood warnings and alerts in several regions.

Large parts of the UK are facing ongoing flooding as record levels of rainfall show little sign of easing. Authorities have confirmed that at least 300 homes in England have already been affected, with many more properties remaining at risk due to saturated ground and rising river levels.

Flood warnings remain in force across England, alongside additional alerts in Wales and Scotland, meaning further flooding is possible. Officials say thousands of homes and businesses have been protected by flood defences, but the continued rainfall is placing increasing pressure on rivers, drainage systems, and groundwater.

Weather experts describe current conditions as repetitive, with unsettled weather patterns bringing frequent showers and longer spells of rain. In some areas, rainfall has been recorded every day this year, while January set new rainfall records at multiple monitoring stations across the country. Northern Ireland experienced its wettest January in more than a century, while parts of southern England also recorded historic daily rainfall levels.

February has continued the trend, with some regions already receiving well over half of their usual monthly rainfall. Eastern Scotland remains under heightened warning, with heavy rain expected over higher ground and the possibility of colder conditions later in the week.

Emergency teams are continuing efforts to support affected communities through flood barriers, pumps, and cleared waterways. Members of the public are being urged to remain vigilant, follow local advice, and avoid driving through floodwater due to serious safety risks.
