K-pop performers led global music streaming in 2025, with industry data showing their songs reached the highest worldwide popularity during the year.
New figures released by the global music industry revealed that artists linked to K-pop delivered the most streamed songs worldwide in 2025. The biggest global hit of the year was APT, performed by Rosé in collaboration with Bruno Mars. The track recorded more than two billion streams, making it the most popular song globally during the year.
This marked the first time a song containing non-English lyrics topped the annual worldwide singles chart. The success also represented the first chart-topping entry by an artist from outside North America or Europe. Although most of the song is in English, it includes spoken and repeated Korean words, highlighting the growing global acceptance of multilingual music.
The second most popular song of 2025 was Golden by Huntr/X, an animated girl group featured in the Netflix film KPop Demon Hunters. Other high-ranking tracks included songs by Alex Warren, Lady Gaga, Benson Boone, and Billie Eilish. Eight of the top ten songs were originally released before 2025, showing the long-lasting appeal of earlier releases.
Only one British artist appeared in the top 20 list, with Lola Young placing just outside the top ten. Separately, Taylor Swift was named the biggest global artist overall for the year, appearing once in the top singles rankings. The full list of top albums is scheduled to be released later.
