At least 90 people were arrested during a demonstration in London supporting Palestine Action, a group banned under the UK’s Terrorism Act. Police said the arrests, recorded by early evening on Saturday, were linked to a protest organized by Defend Our Juries in support of the proscribed organization. Officers confirmed the event in Tavistock Square has since concluded.

Protesters carried Palestinian flags and signs while chanting pro-Palestine slogans. Some banners stated opposition to genocide and expressed support for Palestine Action. Defend Our Juries said on social media that police began arresting demonstrators immediately, including those silently holding signs. The group also highlighted the symbolic significance of Tavistock Square, known for its peace-themed memorials.

Palestine Action was outlawed in July, a move that has led to numerous arrests of people displaying support for the group. The latest demonstration came just before a judicial review scheduled for November 25–27, which will consider whether the ban should remain in place.

The events occur against the backdrop of extensive casualties in Gaza since October 2023 and ongoing international legal proceedings, including arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court and a genocide case before the International Court of Justice.
