Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated on October 3 that the 20-point peace plan announced by former U.S. President Donald Trump to end the war in Gaza differs from a draft proposed by a group of Muslim-majority countries.

According to Dar, the original draft called for a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, while Trump’s plan includes only a partial Israeli pullback. This partial withdrawal is intended to facilitate the release of remaining hostages held by Palestinian Hamas militants.

Dar emphasized that the publicly released plan “is not the same as ours,” suggesting that changes were made to the draft before Trump’s announcement.

Trump released the 20-point blueprint on September 29, proposing a ceasefire followed by the return of all hostages—both living and deceased—within 72 hours. The plan also envisions the redevelopment of a “New Gaza” in the future.

The proposal leaves many specifics for negotiators to resolve and depends on Hamas’s acceptance. The differences between Trump’s plan and the Muslim-majority countries’ draft highlight ongoing complexities in efforts to resolve the Israel-Hamas conflict.
