A new chapter for Pokémon fans is on the horizon as PokePark Kanto prepares to open its gates in February 2026. The outdoor theme park, built inside Yomiuriland in western Tokyo, will be the first permanent park dedicated entirely to the Pokémon franchise. Covering 26,000 square metres, the park will showcase more than 600 Pokémon characters placed across natural and themed environments.

PokePark Kanto will feature two main areas. The Pokémon Forest will offer a woodland trail where visitors can discover Pokémon figures integrated into the landscape, with some models designed for children to sit on or ride. Sedge Town, the second zone, will resemble a compact settlement filled with performances, interactive features and small attractions for families and fans.

The park will also include a Pokémon Center inspired by the familiar healing hubs from the animated series. Additional shows and character appearances are planned to create a lively and immersive experience. Tickets will first be available through a lottery and pre-sale system beginning 21 November 2025.

Though temporary Pokémon parks have appeared in the past, this marks the first permanent outdoor park built specifically for long-term visitors.
