Four Hatzola Ambulances Set on Fire in London, Police Treat Incident as Antisemitic Hate Crime

Metropolitan Police said an arson attack on ambulances belonging to Hatzola in Golders Green is being treated as an antisemitic hate crime. The incident took place on Highfield Road at around 01:45 GMT on Monday, when emergency services received reports of a fire involving multiple vehicles.

Police said four ambulances were set on fire and confirmed that CCTV footage shows three suspects approaching the site and igniting at least one vehicle. Officers said they are reviewing video evidence and are working to identify those involved. No arrests have been made so far.

London Fire Brigade deployed six fire engines and about 40 firefighters to control the blaze. Authorities said explosions reported at the scene were linked to gas canisters inside the ambulances. Emergency services evacuated nearby homes as a precaution, and around 30 residents were moved to a temporary shelter. No injuries were reported during the incident.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the incident was a deeply shocking antisemitic arson attack and urged anyone with information to contact police. Ephraim Mirvis said the targeting of a volunteer ambulance service raises concern about community safety.

Police said officers remain at the scene, are engaging with community representatives, and are increasing patrols while the investigation continues.
