A tragic accident occurred on the Hayuliang–Chaglagam road in Arunachal Pradesh near the Indo-China border, when a truck carrying 21 labourers fell into a deep gorge. Anjaw Deputy Commissioner Millo Kojin confirmed that at least 18 people are feared dead.
The incident, which happened on Monday, came to light only after a severely injured survivor reached the district headquarters and alerted authorities. The accident site is located around 45 km from the international border at an altitude exceeding 10,000 feet. Some victims were trapped inside the truck, while others fell outside as it tumbled into the gorge.

One injured labourer, suffering from head injuries and facial fractures, is being evacuated to Assam for treatment. Coordination with Assam Police is ongoing to complete the necessary formalities for the victims.
A team from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been deployed from Dibrugarh, Assam, to support search and rescue operations at the remote and treacherous site. Officials are continuing efforts to recover any remaining victims and provide assistance to the families affected.
