Explosions were heard across Tehran this morning as Israel and the United States carried out coordinated missile strikes on Iran’s capital.

According to a US official, the United States participated alongside Israel in the attacks, marking a joint military action against targets in Tehran. Explosions were reported in central parts of the city, and smoke was seen rising over affected districts shortly after the strikes began.

Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz stated that the operation was intended as a pre-emptive strike to remove threats to Israel’s security, though specific targets and outcomes have not been disclosed. Reports indicate that multiple missiles struck areas including University Street and the Jomhouri district.

The involvement of US forces represents a significant escalation in the conflict, with officials confirming joint action while the Pentagon has yet to issue a public statement. The US Embassy in Qatar advised personnel to implement shelter-in-place precautions amid the developments.

This combined operation comes amid broader regional tensions and follows warnings from both nations about threats posed by Iran. Explosions were also reported in other parts of Tehran, and both countries have been closely monitoring the situation for further developments.
