Liuyang, China, a city historically linked to gunpowder, has set a new milestone in aerial performances with a large-scale drone show that replaced traditional fireworks with advanced technology. The event featured a total of 15,947 drones, all operated through a single computer system, demonstrating a high level of coordination and control.

The show achieved two world records during its display. One of the most notable achievements was 7,496 drones launching real fireworks while flying in mid-air. This combination of drones and fireworks marked a major technical advancement in live aerial displays.

Using RTK positioning technology and a high-speed mesh swarm system, the drones formed detailed sky visuals with centimeter-level accuracy. The formations included images of trees, towers, and flowers, all appearing clearly and consistently across the night sky. The precision allowed the visuals to remain stable despite the large number of drones involved.

Titled A Firework Belonging to Me, the performance highlighted how modern drone technology can transform large public shows. The event showed how coordinated drone swarms can offer an alternative to conventional fireworks while maintaining visual impact and technical reliability.
