Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called for renewed cooperation between Donald Trump and Keir Starmer, urging the two leaders to meet and find common ground amid rising geopolitical tensions. Speaking in an interview following talks in London, Zelensky emphasised the importance of unity among Western allies.
His remarks come after recent criticism by Trump of Starmer’s leadership and approach to international conflicts. While Zelensky avoided taking sides, he suggested that dialogue between the two leaders could help “re-load” their relationship and strengthen coordination.
Zelensky also expressed concern about the broader global situation, particularly the impact of escalating conflict involving Iran on Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia. He warned that shifting international focus could delay diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving the conflict in Eastern Europe.

During his visit to the United Kingdom, Zelensky met with Starmer at Downing Street and addressed members of Parliament, stressing the need to maintain attention on Ukraine. He argued that continued Western support is essential as the war enters a prolonged phase.
Starmer reiterated the UK’s commitment to Ukraine while maintaining that Britain would avoid deeper involvement in wider regional conflicts. Zelensky’s visit forms part of a broader diplomatic tour of European capitals aimed at reinforcing international backing. For more news and update, click here to download our mobile app – Veritas Daily
