DGAFMS Participates in Indo-Pacific Military Health Exchange in Japan

Surg Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services, took part in the Indo-Pacific Military Health Exchange (IPMHE) held in Yokohama, Japan, from 02 to 05 December 2025. The conference, regarded as the leading medical forum for Indo-Pacific nations, brought together the heads of Armed Forces Medical Services from 23 countries to discuss shared challenges and advancements in military healthcare.

During the event, Surg Capt Sivam Narayan from INHS Asvini presented a poster titled Challenges of Nuclear Diving, highlighting specialised medical concerns linked to underwater operations in nuclear environments. The conference sessions covered a wide range of topics, including operational medicine, combat casualty care, military medical research, technological innovations, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations, global health security and strengthening of health systems.

Surg Vice Admiral Sarin also took part in breakout discussions and bilateral interactions with several participating nations. These engagements focused on expanding cooperation and identifying new areas for collaborative training, research and knowledge exchange. The participation underscored India’s commitment to enhancing military medical readiness and fostering stronger regional partnerships.
