Israeli Strike Hits Police Vehicle in Gaza, Killing Four Medics

An Israeli airstrike struck a police vehicle in Gaza City on Tuesday, killing at least four people, according to medics in the territory. The attack took place on Nafaq Street and set the vehicle on fire, with emergency responders rushing to the scene to recover victims and search for additional casualties.

Health officials said the dead included members of emergency response teams, though the exact breakdown of police officers and medical personnel was not immediately confirmed. Several bystanders were also reported injured in the incident.

The Israeli military did not immediately comment on the strike, which comes amid ongoing tensions in Gaza despite a fragile ceasefire arrangement reached last year. The ceasefire has significantly reduced large-scale fighting but has not fully halted periodic airstrikes and targeted operations in the territory.

Local authorities and humanitarian groups have repeatedly raised concerns about civilian safety, particularly in densely populated urban areas where security forces and emergency services operate.

The latest strike adds to a pattern of continued violence in Gaza, where sporadic Israeli attacks have persisted alongside broader political and security disputes between Israel and Hamas. Medics say such incidents continue to strain already overwhelmed emergency response systems in the enclave.
