US President Donald Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for a meeting at his Mar-a-Lago residence, where the two leaders discussed several major international and political issues. Their talks focused on the Gaza situation, Iran, the West Bank, and legal and diplomatic matters involving Netanyahu.
During the meeting, Trump warned that Hamas would face severe consequences if it failed to disarm, claiming that some unnamed countries were prepared to act against the group if it did not comply. However, no specific nations were identified, and no formal commitments were announced.
Trump also voiced support for possible future Israeli strikes on Iran if the country continues developing its missile or nuclear programs. He said the United States would respond quickly if Iran resumed weapons buildup.
On the West Bank, Trump acknowledged disagreements with Netanyahu but declined to explain them, saying a decision would be announced later. The issue remains sensitive due to ongoing tensions and violence in the area.
Trump further claimed that Israel’s president had indicated a pardon for Netanyahu was forthcoming, a statement that was later disputed by Israeli officials. Netanyahu currently denies charges related to corruption cases.
The meeting concluded with Netanyahu announcing that Trump would receive the Israel Prize, making him the first non-Israeli recipient of the award.
