The Women’s Premier League 2026 auction in New Delhi on November 27 featured several headline moments, including Deepti Sharma becoming the highest-priced player at Rs. 3.2 crore. While Alyssa Healy surprisingly went unsold, a significant share of attention shifted to England pacer Lauren Bell, who was signed by RCB for Rs. 90 lakh.

Standing at six feet two inches, Bell has gained recognition both for her bowling skills and her rising popularity online. Her natural swing, bounce and consistent pace have earned her the nickname The Shard. At 24, she has already built an impressive international record, claiming wickets across formats since her debut in 2022.

Bell’s journey to cricket began after she switched from football at age 16, a decision encouraged by her father. Her early promise was clear when she became the first girl to play for the boys’ 1st XI at Bradfield College. She later represented UP Warriorz in a previous WPL season and will now join RCB for the league’s fourth edition.
With her growing fan base, on-field skill and strong performances, Bell is expected to be one of the notable players to watch in WPL 2026.
