Luxury Boca Raton Resort Floods After Storms Turn Lobby Into “Mini Titanic” Scene

A luxury resort in Boca Raton, Florida, briefly turned into a scene out of Titanic after severe weekend storms flooded its grand lobby. Guests at The Boca Raton hotel on Sunday, October 26, captured dramatic footage showing water gushing through the windows as a whirlpool formed in the center of the lobby.

Vacationer Glen Fetzner, who arrived for dinner that evening, told CBS 12 that “the window broke through, and it went from one foot to three feet in about a minute.” Another guest, Annekatrin Webber, described the surreal moment: “It really felt like the Titanic. Everything was flooded and the sofas were moving.”

Despite the chaos, hotel staff responded swiftly. “We had a hotel full of guests that we had to take care of,” said CEO Daniel Hostettler, praising the teamwork of employees who stayed through the night to assist guests and begin cleanup once the roads reopened.

Fortunately, no injuries or room damages were reported, and the lobby reopened by Tuesday morning with fresh furnishings. The National Weather Service had issued a flash flood warning for the area Sunday evening, as storms continued into Monday.
