Three Police Officers Injured in IED Attack on Convoy in Hangu’s Doaba Area

At least three police officers were injured on Sunday after an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a police convoy in the Doaba area of Hangu district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to police officials, among the injured is Station House Officer (SHO) Imranuddin.

The attack occurred as the convoy was returning from a peace committee meeting. Senior officials, including Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Abdul Samad and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Tall Mujahid, were also part of the team when the explosion struck. Following the blast, a fierce exchange of gunfire erupted between police personnel and unidentified assailants.

SP Abdul Samad confirmed that the explosion was caused by an IED planted along the convoy’s route. Security forces immediately cordoned off the area, and reinforcements were dispatched to the scene.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has taken notice of the incident and directed the Inspector General of Police to submit a detailed report. He also instructed officials to ensure the injured receive prompt medical care. In his statement, Afridi commended the bravery of the police officers and ordered heightened security measures across the province to prevent further attacks.
