International aid organizations have started delivering humanitarian relief to Iran using land routes through neighboring countries, as ongoing conflict in the region continues to disrupt traditional air and maritime supply chains. The move marks one of the first coordinated efforts to resume large-scale aid deliveries since the escalation of fighting in February.
According to humanitarian officials, air and sea transport routes into Iran have been heavily restricted due to security concerns and shifting control over key regional corridors. As a result, emergency supplies had accumulated in regional logistics hubs such as Dubai, unable to reach affected populations.
Aid agencies, including the International Committee of the Red Cross and the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, have now begun transporting essential supplies such as trauma kits, tents, and blankets via overland convoys from Turkey and Jordan into Iran. These shipments are expected to support tens of thousands of people affected by displacement and shortages.
Humanitarian organizations say the situation on the ground has created urgent demand for medical and shelter assistance, particularly in areas affected by airstrikes and infrastructure damage. The use of land corridors is seen as a temporary but critical solution to bypass blocked or unsafe airspace and maritime routes.
Relief groups have also emphasized that coordination with local agencies, including the Iranian Red Crescent, has been essential for distributing aid inside the country. These efforts are focused on reaching vulnerable populations while maintaining humanitarian neutrality in a complex conflict environment.
The development highlights the broader impact of the conflict on civilian access to essential services, as well as the logistical challenges faced by international aid agencies operating in active war zones.
