Newly released documents reveal that the FBI received multiple allegations about Donald Trump’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein. The allegations were submitted through the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center hotline, and many appear to be unsubstantiated claims of sexual abuse involving Trump, Epstein, and other public figures.
While President Trump is mentioned extensively in the files, he has consistently denied any wrongdoing or knowledge of Epstein’s abuse. He has acknowledged having a friendship with Epstein, but the two reportedly had a falling out in the mid-2000s, well before Epstein was arrested and convicted.
The US Justice Department has addressed the documents, asserting that some of the claims against Trump are “untrue and sensationalist” and were submitted to the FBI shortly before the 2020 election. The department further stated that if there were any credibility to these allegations, they would have been used against Trump during the election cycle.
Despite the claims being deemed unfounded by the Justice Department, the release of these documents continues to spark debate over Trump’s connection to Epstein.
