Jaffar Express Targeted Again in Bomb Blast Near Sindh-Balochistan Border; Multiple Injured

The Jaffar Express was attacked once again on Tuesday as an explosive device planted on the tracks detonated near the Sultankot area, close to the Sindh-Balochistan border. The blast caused multiple coaches to derail, and initial rescue operations have confirmed several injuries. The full extent of casualties and damage is still being assessed as rescue and relief efforts continue.

Security forces and emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist victims and secure the area. Authorities have launched an investigation into the origins of the explosive and the motive behind this latest attack on a passenger train.

This marks at least the third attack on the Jaffar Express in recent months. In August 2025, an IED explosion derailed six coaches in Mastung district. Just weeks later in September, 12 people—including women and children—were injured in another blast in the Spizend area, again targeting the same train.

The repeated targeting of the Jaffar Express, which connects Balochistan with the rest of Pakistan, has sparked growing concern over passenger safety and rail infrastructure security. Pressure is mounting on authorities to implement stronger protective measures to prevent future incidents.
