Netanyahu Visits IDF Troops in Syria-Based Post, Thanks Soldiers for Ongoing Service

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited an IDF-controlled post in Syrian territory earlier today, a trip aimed at personally thanking soldiers stationed along the tense northern front. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, troops expressed appreciation for the visit, with some noting they were already on their sixth deployment cycle. Many told the delegation they were committed to continuing their mission to keep Israel’s borders secure.

During the visit, Netanyahu met active-duty and reserve soldiers, commending their actions throughout the ongoing conflict and their role in maintaining stability in the region. He also held an open conversation with troops, answering questions about the situation on the ground and broader security challenges.

Several senior officials accompanied the prime minister, including Defense Minister Israel Katz, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and Shin Bet head David Zini. Other attendees included acting National Security Council chief Gil Reich, Israel’s ambassador to the United States Yehiel Leiter, Northern Command chief Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, COGAT head Maj. Gen. Ghassan Alian and 210th Division Commander Brig. Gen. Yair Peli.

The visit underscored Israel’s continued focus on its northern border and the role of soldiers stationed in high-risk areas.
