Samsung Unveils Galaxy Z TriFold, Its First Tri-Fold Smartphone

Samsung has officially launched its first tri-fold smartphone, the Galaxy Z TriFold, featuring a 10-inch display when fully unfolded. The device will debut in South Korea on December 12, 2025, with a US release planned for early 2026.

The Galaxy Z TriFold uses an inward-folding design with two hinges, allowing it to fold into three sections while protecting the main display. When closed, it offers a 6.5-inch cover screen, transforming into a tablet-sized display when opened. The phone includes an auto-alarm system that notifies users if the device is folded incorrectly.

Measuring just 3.9mm at its thinnest point and weighing 309 grams, the TriFold is powered by a customized Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, 16GB of RAM, and storage options of 512GB or 1TB. The camera system includes a 200MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 10MP telephoto camera, while both screens have 10MP front-facing cameras.

The smartphone houses a 5,600mAh battery across three panels, supporting 45W wired and 15W wireless charging. It also offers IP48 water resistance. Samsung’s OneUI multitasking allows three apps to run side-by-side, and the TriFold introduces standalone Samsung DeX with up to four workspaces.

In South Korea, the 16GB/512GB model is priced at around $2,443, with the US price expected near $2,500.
