Sean “Diddy” Combs Set for 2028 Release; Attorney Seeks Transfer to FCI Fort Dix

Disgraced rapper and music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, 55, is scheduled to be released from prison on May 8, 2028, according to the U.S. Bureau of Prisons. Combs is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in New York City after being convicted in July on two counts of transportation to participate in prostitution. He was sentenced to four years and two months in prison.

In addition to his prison term, Combs was fined $500,000 and will serve five years of supervised release following completion of his sentence. The charges stemmed from allegations that he manipulated women and organized drug-fueled events described in court as multi-day “freak-offs.”

Combs’ attorney, Teny Geragos, has requested that Judge Arun Subramanian recommend the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Fort Dix in southern New Jersey as his place of incarceration. In a letter dated October 6, Geragos said the move would allow Combs to “maximize family visitation and rehabilitative efforts” through Fort Dix’s Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP).

Fort Dix houses roughly 4,100 male inmates and is located about 90 minutes from New York City. The Bureau of Prisons will make the final decision on where Combs serves his sentence.
