A medical chartered plane headed from Ranchi to Delhi crashed on Monday, officials said, with its last tracked location near Palamau district in Jharkhand.
The aircraft, a Beechcraft King Air BE9L operated by Delhiโbased Redbird Airways Pvt Ltd, departed Ranchi Airport at 7:07โฏpm with seven people on board, including a patient, a doctor, a paramedic, two attendants, a pilot in command and a coโpilot.
According to aviation and state officials, the plane lost contact with air traffic control at about 7:34โฏpm, roughly 27โฏminutes after takeoff. Rescue teams and authorities have been alerted as the aircraftโs expected landing in Delhi at around 10โฏpm was not met.
Initial reports indicate the chartered medical flight disappeared from radar shortly after it climbed out of Ranchi, triggering notification to local and aviation authorities to initiate search and rescue procedures. At this stage, officials have not confirmed the exact cause of the crash or the condition of those onboard.
Local emergency services and air safety regulators are said to be coordinating response efforts, with searches focused on the last known location near Palamau. Further details, including possible reasons for the aircraftโs disappearance from radar and any findings from ongoing field operations, are awaited from authorities and the aviation safety investigation teams.
