A medical chartered plane headed from Ranchi to Delhi crashed on Monday, officials said, with its last tracked location near Palamau district in Jharkhand.

The aircraft, a Beechcraft King Air BE9L operated by Delhiโ€‘based Redbird Airways Pvt Ltd, departed Ranchi Airport at 7:07โ€ฏpm with seven people on board, including a patient, a doctor, a paramedic, two attendants, a pilot in command and a coโ€‘pilot.

According to aviation and state officials, the plane lost contact with air traffic control at about 7:34โ€ฏpm, roughly 27โ€ฏminutes after takeoff. Rescue teams and authorities have been alerted as the aircraftโ€™s expected landing in Delhi at around 10โ€ฏpm was not met.

Initial reports indicate the chartered medical flight disappeared from radar shortly after it climbed out of Ranchi, triggering notification to local and aviation authorities to initiate search and rescue procedures. At this stage, officials have not confirmed the exact cause of the crash or the condition of those onboard.

Local emergency services and air safety regulators are said to be coordinating response efforts, with searches focused on the last known location near Palamau. Further details, including possible reasons for the aircraftโ€™s disappearance from radar and any findings from ongoing field operations, are awaited from authorities and the aviation safety investigation teams.
