Kremlin Says World Is Lining Up for Russian Energy, Blasts Ukraine for CPC Attack

The Kremlin said on Tuesday that global demand for Russian oil and gas continues to grow, and that Russia is negotiating new export deals beyond Europe to maintain energy flows. Officials said the world is “lining up” for Russian energy, despite efforts by some countries to reduce dependence amid the war in Ukraine.

Russian defence authorities said Ukrainian drones struck the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) Black Sea terminal near Novorossiysk. The attack damaged the terminal’s single-point mooring, loading facilities, and storage tanks, officials said. The CPC terminal ships about 1.5 % of global oil supplies and handles most of Kazakhstan’s crude exports.

Russia accused Ukraine of targeting energy infrastructure to inflict economic damage. Officials said the attack affected companies including U.S. and Kazakh shareholders in the CPC. Russia said these strikes threaten the stability of energy exports and global supply chains.

The Kremlin said Ukraine has intensified drone and missile attacks on Russian energy hubs, including terminals in the Baltic region. Officials said Russia continues to protect its infrastructure and ensure energy shipments reach international buyers.

Russian authorities also said Ukraine’s operations aim to reduce Moscow’s revenue from energy exports, which fund military operations. Kremlin statements emphasized that demand for Russian energy remains high and that global markets rely on Russian oil and gas.

Ukraine has not independently confirmed responsibility for the CPC attack. Russian officials said they are monitoring the situation and maintaining security at key energy facilities.
