Zelensky Warns of Global Consequences as Ukraine Rejects Territorial Concessions

Ukraine’s president says the war is far from over and insists that giving up land for peace would threaten both national unity and global stability.

In an interview from Kyiv, Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine would not accept territorial withdrawals demanded by Vladimir Putin as part of any ceasefire. He argued that such moves would weaken Ukraine’s position, abandon citizens living in occupied areas, and divide society internally. According to him, Russia has already escalated the conflict into a wider global threat that must be confronted through sustained military and economic pressure.

Zelensky stated that Russia’s aim extends beyond land control and includes reshaping how people live and choose their futures. He warned that even if concessions brought a temporary pause, Russia could regroup and resume aggression within a few years. Ukraine, he said, is fighting for independence and does not see surrendering territory as a path to lasting peace.

The president also addressed international pressure, particularly calls for compromise to end the war quickly. He maintained that Ukraine is not losing and stressed that defending the country today prevents further expansion of the conflict elsewhere. While restoring all territory is a long-term goal, Zelensky said immediate large-scale offensives would cost too many lives and depend heavily on external military support.

He emphasized that real victory means ending violence, preserving independence, and ensuring justice, not only for Ukraine but for global security.
